  • Essential steps for starting new programs

The speaker, Martha McNiel, started DreamPower Horsemanship in 2002 with her personal horse “Nick” a miniature horse named “Zachary” and herself as the only staff member.  Over the past 20 years DreamPower grew to provide services to over 800 individuals each year with more than 500 volunteers donating their time each year. One program grew to more than forty distinct programs over the past 20 years. Martha and members of her staff and volunteers have been honored with industry awards from PATH International. She is an experienced builder of programs, teams, and meaningful relationships. Her past presentations for the Equestrian Professional website include “Working with Horses in Leadership, Mental Health and Learning Programs” and “Recruiting, Training and Retaining Volunteers for Your Equine Program.”

“We are so honored to have Martha back to present this topic to our members,” says Elisabeth McMillan, founder of Equestrian Professional. “Equine-assisted services is seeing an increase in interest, and it can be a valuable asset to equestrian centers looking to expand and grow.”
