Old Friends, New Adventures & New Horses

New Episode of Ride On with Julie Goodnight Out Now

When it comes to our journeys with horses, nothing beats the lifelong friends we share with them along the way. Julie Goodnight invites her friend of 25 years, “T” Cody, to chat about their horse adventures together, and her return to horse ownership after a 5-year hiatus in the latest episode of Ride On with Julie Goodnight.

“We’d just returned from two weeks riding in Ireland when we recorded this episode, and it was fun to relive our best memories of riding through the Irish countryside, mountains, and coast with listeners,” says Goodnight. “It was everything you’ve ever dreamed of.”

In addition to sharing some stories from their adventures, Goodnight and Cody talk about what it was like for her to come back to horses.

“T and I have shared a passion for horses and a friendship that lasts a lifetime,” says Goodnight. “I was sad when she backed away from horses, so to have her on my podcast years later talking about getting back into horses felt like a homecoming.”

In this episode, Cody also opens up about her journey to find and buy the right horse—site unseen—the many ins and outs of becoming a horse owner again, and talks with Goodnight about how to develop his training.

“I know many listeners will relate to T’s struggles, like finding the right boarding barn and a trainer that she felt safe with,” says Goodnight. “Riders often think they are alone in their struggles, but the truth is, most of us experience the same types of challenges. Sharing our trials and tribulations brings us together in a common bond, and it makes us all feel like part of a community.”
