Wendy Murdoch’s Five-minute Fixes to Improve Your Riding Gets Translated into . . . Japanese!

One of Wendy Murdoch’s most popular self-help books for riders — 50 5-minute Fixes to Improve Your Riding: Simple Solutions for Better Position and Performance in No Time – has been translated into Japanese for riders from the Land of the Rising Sun.

“I’m thrilled that a whole new audience of riders will now have access to these simple “how-to” exercises that target the most common problems in the saddle,” said Wendy. “The lessons in this book are short and specific, and help riders become more effective in minutes.”

First published in 2010 by Trafalgar Square Books, the book developed from a series of “quick tip” articles Wendy began writing in 2005 called “Improve your Riding in a Murdoch Minute.” More than 50 articles later, she decided to compile these “Murdoch Minutes,” expand them, and include more photographs and illustrations to create the 50 5-minute Fixes to Improve Your Riding full-color, 200-page book.

The book that English-speaking riders and instructors have loved for years is now available in Japan for coaches and their students to try for themselves. Meanwhile, the original version is available for purchase from the Book Case on The Murdoch Method website, along with her other popular books and DVDs:

“I divided the 50 5-minute Fixes book into sections of the rider’s body, such as head and neck, arms, legs, and so on, “said Wendy. “Each section offers anywhere from 4 to 11 exercises, some of which rely on “props” like Ace® bandages, a small towel, a pool noodle, Popsicle® sticks, even an eye patch!”

Before riders and trainers start trying out the exercises, Wendy encourages everyone to read her “Guidelines to Learning” at the beginning of the book. Some of her advice: give yourself a break, listen to yourself, be willing to experiment, and (perhaps counterintuitively), do less. By incorporating a modern understanding of how people learn, she enables riders to solve their problems not only with minimal time, but also with minimal effort.
