How Many Miles Will You Ride for Horse Welfare in December? The Challenge is Underway!

Equilab has teamed up with the EQUUS Foundation to offer the EQUUS Foundation Challenge during the month of December. How many miles will you ride during December? Will it be 15, 30, 60, or 120 miles?

“Over 1 million equestrians around the world use the Equilab app to track their rides, manage their horses, and connect with other riders. We are hoping that they will all join the challenge and take the EQUUS Foundation #HorseProtector Pledge,” said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President.

If you are a current user, all you need to do is sign in, join the challenge, choose one of the four goals – 15, 30, 60 or 120 miles — and click the link to take the EQUUS Foundation’s #Horseprotector Pledge.

#HorseProtectors are individuals who have taken our pledge to protect America’s horses from peril! Too many horses in America need a lifeline when their owners cannot, or no longer wish to, care for their horses.

The EQUUS Foundation is the only U.S.-based public charity and accrediting body with the dual purpose of ensuring the safety and comfort of equines throughout their lives and promoting opportunities to cultivate the special bond between horse and human.

Whether you are a competing equestrian, a pleasure rider, or someone who loves horses – you can help ensure that America’s horses live in comfort and with purpose and dignity throughout their lives by LENDING YOUR VOICE!

There are two versions. The most common is the FREE version that is perfect for 99% of users.

Once you have set your goal, all you have to do is turn the app on while riding and keep your phone in a tight pocket.

When you reach your goal within December, you will receive the unique EQUUS Foundation badge to display in your profile in the app — showing your fellow equestrians that you are committed to protecting horses everywhere.

“With exciting new challenges each month and dozens of achievements to strive for, Equilab helps you stay committed to growing as an equestrian,” said Johanna Wingstrand, Equilab’s Marketing and Partnership Manager. “You put in lots of hard work, and the app shows you how much progress you’re making each week, month, and year. Equilab wants to empower equestrians everywhere and help you develop as a rider together with your horse.”

Consider making the welfare of horses a priority on December 13!

Lafitte De Muze Matching Gift Campaign

Celebrate The National Day of the Horse – “A Giving Day Dedicated to America’s Horses”

The EQUUS Foundation is celebrating the National Day of the Horse on December 13th with the $20,000 Lafitte De Muze Matching Gift Campaign thanks to EQUUS Foundation Equine Ambassador, Lafitte De Muze, his rider, Amanda Steege, and his owner, Cheryl Olsten. In 2004, Congress designated December 13th as the National Day of the Horse to celebrate the cultural, historic, and economic contributions that horses have made and continue to make. What better way to celebrate the connection, love, and partnership we share with our beloved equines during this season of giving?
