Author Seeks Advice From The Racing Industry

Janet Winters, author of The Ivy Snow Mystery Seriesseeks advice from members in, or affiliated with, the horse racing industry for a new novel. Protagonist Ivy Snow, former Olympic Equestrian Team hopeful, and amateur sleuth finds herself thrust into the world of racing by (spoiler alert) inheriting a racehorse slated to run in the Kentucky Derby. Ivy has in-depth knowledge of eventing, showjumping, and polo, but is sorely lacking in the racing industry. Her knowledge of the Kentucky Derby is pretty much limited to big hats and Mint Juleps.

The novel, The Breaking Maiden Murder, is set in the Bluegrass of Lexington Kentucky. Ivy arrives determined to make a success of this endeavor, but needs your help. AHP members with knowledge of racing, breeding and/or training Thoroughbreds, willing to share an “insiders” view, would be greatly appreciated and credited. This story line is an opportunity to educate, while entertaining!

If you have knowledge, a viewpoint, or a Mint Julep recipe that you would like to share, contact Janet Winters at barngoddess57@gmail.com.
