The Equestrian Vagabond, Merri Melde, shares another year in the life of an equine photographer in the online gallery, “A Fun Look Back at 2023.”

Melde served as Official Photographer in 2023 at numerous AERC (American Endurance Ride Conference) Endurance rides in Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, and Washington, at Trail Rides in Idaho and at Ultra-Marathons in Idaho. She captured between-the-ears shots while trail riding around her home of Owyhee County, Idaho, and while competing in Idaho Endurance rides aboard her somewhat famous off-the-track Standardbred, Hillbillie Willie.
In addition to writing for Horse Illustrated, Melde’s writing projects included several travel adventure books she plans to publish in 2024.
