Quarter Horse News Stallion Register expands Black Type information for 2024

Preorders are open for the Quarter Horse News Stallion Register 2024. Preordered magazines should be arriving on doorsteps as early as November 21, 2023.

In an effort to provide the most important and accurate information to our readers, QHN has made a few changes in the 2024 register. The pedigree has moved to join the left-hand stallion page which will also include the stallion’s photo, bio, standing location, incentive information, genetic testing information and breeding fee details.  This allows EquiStat the opportunity to expand their Black Type Pedigrees and Magic Cross information providing more insight to the success of these stallions and their bloodlines.

“We recognize how difficult the decision can be to select a sire for your mare. From pedigrees to earnings to proven offspring success, we take very seriously the important role that the QHN Stallion Register plays in helping mare owners make careful, educated and calculated breeding decisions,” said Dani Licklider, Morris Communications Director of Western Brands. “Powered by EquiStat, the most comprehensive and complete database in the Western industry, we are confident that the refreshed design of this year’s book will showcase the true uniqueness of the sires featured, as well as provide a more pleasurable reading experience for mare owners.”

The 2024 QHN Stallion Register is once again packed with insightful features, including profiles of the leading freshman sires, a game plan for first-time breeders, a peek into how roping futurities are influencing the western performance horse breeding scene, as well as the in-depth sire and dam statistics readers love.

To top off the excitement, the cover is graced by EquiStat $5 Million Sire Metallic Rebel. He was a force to be reckoned with in the show pen and is now one of the EquiStat leading junior sires.

The 2024 Stallion Register is available to preorder here.

The online companion to the QHN Stallion Register, the Stallion Register Directory, is available online year-round. The pages update horse’s earnings and progeny earnings daily, courtesy of EquiStat. The online platform includes the same information as the book but allows stallion owners and managers to update important information when necessary. Stallion’s online pages are also linked in QuarterHorseNews.com articles.

“We are excited that the improvements this year extend far beyond the pages of our print book. Lifetime and offspring earnings are now updated online daily as horse show results are added into EquiStat’s database,” Licklider said. “Stallion owners can update their online profiles and include videos throughout the year as their sires see success. We’re helping mare owners get easier access to these great stallions by promoting them to our larger Quarter Horse News social audience and including stallion spotlights within our weekly newsletter.”
