Established in 1970, American Horse Publications is a non-profit professional association of more than 500 print publications, digital media, individuals and businesses dedicated to promoting excellence in equine media as well as better relationships and communication within the equine publishing industry.

Annual dues runs from January to December. A half year rate is available after July 1.
Membership Categories
Print Publication membership is available to printed publications (ink on paper) primarily involved in the equine industry and related lifestyles. Print Dues is based on circulation figures on the average number of copies per issue during the preceeding 12 months. Verification of circulation may be submitted as current ABC/BPA audit report, postal mailing statement or printing invoice.

Beginning February 1, 2012, Print Publication Dues as listed below:
Circulation under 5,000 - $110
Circulation 5,000 to 25,000 - $165
Circulation over 25,000 - $220
Digital Media membership (formerly Equine-related Website, Associate Equine-related Website and Digital Publication members) is defined as any medium that is published electronically and requires electricity or digital encoding of information. This category includes websites, digital editions, blogs, broadcast, etc. Digital Media members are required to submit verification of average unique visitors per month or issue. These statistics may be calculated by using sites such as Google Analytics or Sitemeter.com. A unique visitor is a count of the number of individual users who have accessed a web site during a given period of time, usually 30 days. Unique visitors do not include duplicates, so visitors are counted only once regardless of the number of times they visit your site.

Individual membership is available to individuals who share an interest in the equine publishing industry and support the purposes and goals of AHP. Examples of Individual Members are freelance writers and photographers, advertising sales representatives, public relations agents, consultants, authors, illustrators, or any individual offering a service to the equine publishing industry.

Individual Dues - $110
Student membership is granted to students at the high school, college, and graduate level who share a love for the equine and curiosity about careers in equine publishing.
