North-central Florida author Natalie Keller Reinert brings her popular, locally-based equestrian fiction to Barnes & Noble alongside equestrian author and memoirist Susan Friedland, and racing history author Peter M. Kray.

Natalie Keller Reinert’s stable of more than twenty-five novels have garnered awards and finalist spots from American Horse Publications, Equus Film & Literary Festival, and the Dr. Tony Ryan Book Award, a prestigious literary prize awarded by Thoroughbred breeders Castleton Lyons.
The majority of her books are set in the Ocala region, where Reinert moved to ride horses when she was eighteen years old. Her fiction about equestrians competing in Three-Day Eventing, horse shows, and horse racing has been inspired and influenced by more than twenty years of working in the equine industry. Writing for an adult audience rather than the middle-grade or young adult demographic has allowed Reinert to connect with thousands of adult and teen readers hungry for novels reflecting their lives as equestrians.
Reinert says, “I’ve followed horses around Florida and all the way to New York City, but Ocala is home. Being part of the Ocala equestrian community and writing about what makes our lives so special and unique is such a privilege, and I love meeting readers whether I’m out volunteering at a horse show or at a bookstore for an event! Susan Friedland
Susan Friedland, a part-time Ocala resident with a popular blog following in the equestrian community and co-host of Horse Illustrated’s “Barn Banter” Podcast, joins the event with her stable of non-fiction titles. Friedland has been writing regularly for equine publications such as Horse Illustrated and Sidelines in addition to her ten-year-strong blog, Saddle Seeks Horse.
Friedland will be signing her humorous memoir, Horses Adored and Men Endured: A Memoir of Falling and Getting Back Up, as well as Strands of Hope: How to Grieve the Loss of a Horse, and Unbridled Creativity: 101 Writing Exercises for the Horse Lover. Fred M. Kray
Rounding out the trifecta at Barnes & Noble will be local author and attorney Fred M. Kray, signing copies of his racing true crime work, Broken: The Suspicious Death of Alydar and the End of Horse Racing’s Golden Age. Kray is a civil trial attorney who for the last 20 years has limited his practice to animal law.
