New Celebs with Horses Episode Features Legendary Songwriter Don McLean

Listen in to learn why the writer of “Bye, Bye Miss American Pie” likes horses better than people, and why he needs horses in his life to feed his soul.

Award-winning author, trainer, instructor and podcaster Lisa Wysocky announces a new episode of the Celebs with Horses podcast on the Horse Radio Network, now part of the Equine Network family.

In this episode, Lisa talks with the legendary singer/songwriter, Don McLean. Don accidentally fell into the world of horses but quickly became a life-long fan and an avid student of the horse. The writer of hit songs such as “Vincent,” “And I Love You So,” and “Bye, Bye Miss American Pie,” (chosen as one of only five songs to represent the twentieth century) shares his love of Appaloosas, and tells listeners about his two heart horses.

“Here is an internationally known entertainer who says he needs horses to feed his soul. How could I not be enthralled?” said Wysocky, who hosts the show. “I loved learning about the care he took while building his barn, his love for his horses, and the expert advice he gives to those contemplating horse ownership.”
