FITS Riding, Ltd. Acquired by Owners of REDINGOTE

Allison Malenfant and Connie DeMaio, the founders of REDINGOTE, the women’s outerwear brand known for its signature one-piece jumpsuit, are announcing their acquisition of FITS Riding, the famed breeches company beloved by dressage riders, endurance riders, and eventers.

FITS is known for its patented PerforMAX™ full seat leather technology, which has two US patents and one European patent. All FITS breeches are the result of countless hours of research into the physics of riding, a range of technical materials, and the most flattering and comfortable fits. Dedicated to the art and science of riding apparel, the company also offers a complete line of schooling and show apparel as well as accessories.

“We launched REDINGOTE in 2018 with a similar mission to revolutionize women’s equestrian outerwear,” says co-founder Allison Malenfant. “Our patented cold-weather coverall design has a ‘cult-like’ following across a wide variety of disciplines in the horse world.” She noted that the one-piece sells out every season and they have since added a collection of separates.

The addition of FITS to Allison and Connie’s business portfolio will augment their current offerings in the equestrian apparel market by expanding into new and different categories. Both FITS and REDINGOTE are rooted in the belief that excellent design has the power to solve problems, make life easier, and ultimately give the wearer freedom and joy.

“The businesses will continue to operate as separate brands,” says co-founder Connie DeMaio. “The brands will share a common goal to provide the best solutions for horsewomen everywhere by introducing pieces that blend innovation, comfort, and beauty.”

The word “redingote” (pronounced: redding-goat) is a French derivative of the English words “riding coat” and is defined as a 19th century highly tailored outdoor riding coat for inclement weather. REDINGOTE has reinvented the item using today’s technical advancements and modern sensibilities for the 21st century equestrian.
